Brooklyn-based watercolor artist Happy Menocal is behind the vibrant watercolor illustrations at Hotel Kinsley, including the mural above the open restaurant kitchen. Each of the four crest segments represents one of our four buildings. Custom hallway carpeting for each building was designed using the respective crest element–checkerboard in 301 Wall, lightning bolt in 41 Pearl, green leaf in 270 Fair and scallop in 24 John.
A spirited escape.
Hotel Kinsley is a collection of four architecturally distinct and restored 17th to 19th century buildings–filled with inspired designs and reimagined for the modern day traveler.
The Hotel
Hotel Kinsley is a 42-room hotel (*two ADA accessible rooms available), restaurant and cocktail bar located in the historic enclave of Kingston, NY–between the foothills of the Catskill Mountains and the banks of the Hudson River. Spread across four historic buildings, each with their own unique personality and charm, we offer a retreat for design-loving travelers looking for a relaxing or adventurous escape.

Now open seven days a week, we’re here for socializing with friends, business meetings or working solo from your table. Complimentary WiFi and ADA accessible seating options available. Don’t miss sipping a Kinsley Martini in our wood paneled cocktail bar.

24 John St

Converted from a European style cottage predating the Revolutionary War, 24 John St features seven charming rooms–from a spacious King Suite with a soaking tub, living area and fireplace to a charming loft room with exposed beams and stone walls.
Exploring Kingston
Hotel Kinsley’s central location makes it a great home base for exploring the region’s hiking trails, local farms, breweries and much more. But don’t miss exploring the city of Kingston. Rich with history, architecture and a thriving arts scene that is fueling a new wave of revitalization, Kingston has three distinct neighborhoods–the historic Uptown (Stockade) district, the Midtown arts district and the Downtown (Rondout) waterfront area. We encourage you to visit them all!
